Is there commentary available in my language?
Tune in to the pre-recorded commentary during your tour. Choose from: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese and Mandarin.
The commentary is available via complimentary earphones that you will receive when you board the bus, please ask your driver if you have any questions.
Where can I start the tour?
At any of the registered tour stops across the City, however both tours depart from Waterloo Place, opposite the Apex Waterloo Place Hotel.
How often to the buses run?
The City Tour runs approximately every 10 minutes, and the Britannia Tour runs every 60 minutes. Timings are subject to change, so please check the Service Information page for further information. You can also ask a Big Bus Tours staff member or contact them for further information.
What can I see and visit?
Bus stops are conveniently located, so you can hop-on and off both the City and Britannia tours as you please. Each stop has been selected because it provides access to an attraction or place of interest. You can hop-on and off as many times as you wish, and are of course welcome to stay on board for the entire circuit. Please see the Tour Highlights to discover more. On which days does the tour operate?
The Big Bus Tour runs every day of the year - Excluding Christmas Day - 25th December and New Years Day - 1st January. The Tours run a reduce service on Christmas Eve - 24th December, Boxing Day - 26th December and Hogmanay, 31st December - please see the Big Bus mobile app for service updates.
How long does the tour take?
A complete circuit of the City Tour takes approximately 1 hour. A full circuit of the Britannia Tour takes approximately 1 hour, 10 minutes. Please allow for more time if you plan to hop on and off at any of our stops.
How do I redeem my ticket?
Show your ticket (printed or on a device) to a member of staff at one of the stops or aboard the bus. They'll issue you a receipt that you'll be able to use to hop on the bus throughout the validity period of your ticket.
What time are the first and last buses?
First and last bus times change seasonally. Please check the Big Bus Service Information page for up-to-date information, or visit the Routes and Maps page for further route information.
What is the child ticketing policy?
A child ticket is available for children between the ages of 4 - 15. Children under 4 may travel free of charge. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Are the buses wheelchair accessible?
Yes, most of the buses are wheelchair accessible. Please contact us for further information.
Do you allow dogs on board?
Yes, all dogs are very welcome. Both service and pets, please consider other passengers when on the bus.
